(Nerv 2nd Announcement room)
Everybody including the pilots and Bright are back.
Fuyusuki: We have 23 hours more.
Misato: And we still have no way out.
Asuka: Why can't we send EVAs up the space?
Ritsuki: EVAs are designed for use in earth only.
Mankoto: Can't we use the same rifle which we used against the 5th Angel?
Chyaku: Nope. We need to destroy more than one Angel this time.
Silent at the room.
Bright: Shouldn't we evacuate all civilian first?
Matsuki: That's not necessary, because the whole earth is gong to be destroyed if Lilith impact us.
Amuro: I think we should use the most simple tactic, we will fire at it from the earth and destroy it before it impact.
Maya: That's nearly impossible.
Chyaku: No!! It is possible, truth me. There is another untested weapon in my collection. It needs two EVAs to operate.
Ritsuko: The untested C-999 weapon?
Chyaku: Percisly. One EVA will generate an AT-field, another will fire the AT-field towards the target. It have a huge range. But...
Ritsuko: It takes a long time to reload, so if we missed our first shot....
Fuyusuki: What the Magi system say?
Shinji: Let me read it out.....0.001 percent of chance.
Misato: Far too risky.
Rei: But I have faith in Chyaku's weapon.
Chyaku: Thanks.
Another alert was showed.
Misato: What now?
Aoba: Mobile Suit. MSs of UN are attacking.
Misato: They are giving us more problem....
Fuyusuki: What else do they know? Misato, what is your tactic.
Misato: Listen, Unit-15 and Unit-01 takes position F. All AEUG MSs and Unit-02 and Unit-14 protect the two from being attack by UN.
Makoto: Why position F?
Misato: I'm putting my luck on test.
Amuro: The whole world depends on your luck?
Matsuki: Yes. But do you have better choice, one-year-war hero?
Amuro: I'll fight my best battle. On your command Misato.
The EVAs and Gundam pilots ran out to the changing room, then for the bay.
Misato: Thanks for your trust.
Chyaku: Ritsuko, how is unit-16?
Ritsuko: All ready, except the pilot. If we have two more, we can activate Unit-00 and Unit-16.
Matsuki and Chyaku: Let us have a go.
Misato: You are crazy. You are untrained.....no, I mean....ermm.
Fuyusuki: Let them go. Misato, you know they aren't untrained. Chyaku, you take Unit-16. Matsuki, you take Unit-00.
Ritsuko: What are you talking about?
Fuyusuki: should we come back alive, their file will be declassified.
Misato: There are 2 new plug suits in the locker room. Becareful.
Matsuki: If we die, don't be sad.
Chyaku and Marsuki ran to the changing room.
(Bay)
EVA-16 is bright green. It have a head much like EVA-00, but it is longer. There weren't too much weapon compartments in EVA-16. All pilots are in their Entry plugs.
Ritsuko: Filling LCL, Chyaku and Matsuki, be clam.
Chyaku and Matsuki did not struggle when the plugs were filled.
Maya: That is a surprise. So clam, not even Shinji was able to do that in his first time.
Ritsuko: We will run a test on Chyaku and Matsuki before launching.
Commands were keyed in to the Magi system.
Maya: The sync rate of Unit-00 and Unit-16 are 56% and 60% respectively.
Ritsuko: Just enough for starting up.....if they suffer attack, this rate might drop below 40%.
Chyaku: It is okay. We need to repay Nerv.
Misato: Launch EVAs and deploy MSs.
(Battle Ground)
Once F-91 was deployed, it have to fire at a UN MS. ZZ-Gundam and Z-Gundam flied into the caster of enemy MSs and kill them one by one with their Beam Saber. Nu-Gundam launched every single available Fin Funnels to help the attack. EVA-01 and 15 got into position while other EVAs surrounded them to protect them from close range.
Chyaku: How should we celebrate after this?
Horoshi: Have some fun with your girl?
Shinji: How can you guys still joke at this time?
Asuka: What else can we do?
Misato: (radio) Shinji, you have 1 more hours before the Angels get into range. Please hold on, for the sake of Men. We have no where to escape.
Horoshi: Thanks for your reminder, but I would rather hear jokes.
A MS fired toward EVA-00, she block it with the shield (The one Chyaku test in the earlier chapter). She tried to knife it with the progressive knife, but her lack of sync clearly gave her a problem. Then, Asuka fired the machine gun at it and it went exploding.
Matsuki: That isn't easy.
Asuka: But for a top pilot like me....
Another MS charged toward EVA-02 with its saber, Asuka blocked it and to kill it with her progressive knife.
Asuka: that won't be too much of a problem.
Chyaku: Remember that the only chance of us hitting the MSs is close range attack, otherwise we are very likely to miss.
Horoshi: Roger that.
F-91 squeezed through the enemy fire and cause 20% of the enemy to explode. ZZ-Gundam fired his double beam rifle and all shots killed at least one enemy. Z-Gundam and Nu-Gundam launched attacked on the enemy's warship.
(sometime later)
Misato: (radio) The count down begin, on the dote of 0, Shinji have to fire, otherwise.......
Shinji: Roger.
Misato: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4
A MS flied into the firing path of EVA-01.
Chyaku: Get lost. If the power of the attack is reduced, Lilith will not die, but we will.
EVA-16 jumped high to the sky, took out the progressive knife, and pushed the blades into the MS' body. This also forced away from the firing path and onto the ground.
Misato: 0!!
EVA-01 fired and the MS exploded, all happened at the same time. The AT-field which was shot out. That could be seen in the screen of 2nd Announcement room.
(2nd Announcement room)
The whole room was silent, watching the computer.

The whole room erupt. Everyone shouted for joy.
Matoko: It's a hit.
Maya: Hit.
Bright: Nerv can really do the impossible.
Ritsuko: WAIT!! The Computer still show a target. Lilith is still alive. Lilith alone can cause the 3rd impact....
(Battle Ground)
Shinji: What?
Horoshi: I don't believe this.
Amuro: The MSs of UN are all dead. But What about us?
Chyaku: I have one more hope for man-kind.
Matsuki: What?
Chyaku: One and final hope. Ritsuko, C-1000 weapon.
Ritsuko: (Radio) C-1000? I've not heard that C-100 exist.
Chyaku: Just send it up.
The armory building opened up. It revealed a familiar weapon: Longinus Spear, or Spear of Longinus.
Misato: (Radio) That is not possible. This should not exist anymore.
Chyaku: As long as there are people who knows how to make it. Horoshi, please.
EVA-14 picked up the weapon.
Chyaku: (a sudden change of tone) Recommended weapon: Longinus Spear.
Matsuki: (also with a change of tone) Attack target with Longinus Spear.
Horoshi: (Another change of tone) Confirmation?
(2nd Announcement room)
Ritsuko: (in thought) These words are familiar. I've seen this, but where? Oh..I remember
Matsuki: Yes.
Ritsuko: (radio) EVA's function normal. Carry on the attack.
Everyone was surprised about what Ritsuko said.
Chyaku: You know the code? Horoshi, soul 4 has given her confirmation, what are you waiting for?
Horoshi: Hai. Final Confirmation?
Matsuki: Chance of success: 0.5%. Final confirmed.
With that, EVA-14 took 2 step forward and threw the spear toward outer space.
Asuka: That action of throw....this can't be true!!
(2nd Announcement room)
Aoba: The Spear have just pinned Lilith onto the moon.
Misato: We have won the battle for man-kind. Retrieve all EVAs and Gundams.
The whole room relieved
(5 minutes later)
The roomed are filled with people, all smiling on their face.
Fuyusuki: It is all over, no more Angel, nothing.
Shinji: Yar, so long.
Then the red alert light went off again.
Misato: Damn it, the UN are sending ground Army. Nerv have no protection against anything other than Angels.
Chyaku: Keele, we will meet.
Fuyusuki: Everybody out of Nerv, we are giving up this place. Send the self-destruction command in 30 minutes.
Ritsuko send typed something into the Magi system. Then a soldier went into the room.
Misato: So fast?
A bullet shot through the head of the soldier, Chyaku was holding a gun.
Chyaku: Given by the UN, but have to use it against them now.
They run out layer by layer. They exchanged gun fire with the UN's army.
Maya: Leave us alone, their main target are the children, bring them away.
Matsuki: Leave here to Chyaku, Horoshi and me, rest of you go first.
Misato: But....
Asuka: Horoshi, don't leave me.
Horoshi: (Kissed Asuka on her forehead) I will survive.
(Misato's group)
They spotted a large group of soldier.
Misato: This is the 2nd last layer, we can't die here.
Maya: Let my open the path for you?
Makoto: You have changed, Maya. I'll come with you.
Amuro: Hey! Wait
Maya and Makoto dashed out and starting firing, the soldiers returned fire. Misato and the rest went onto the 1st layer when the chance arrived. Maya and Makoto were shot and captured.
They ran out of Nerv HQ. At the last layer, they saw 12 people walking in.
Misato: Seele?
The seele turned to them.
Keele: You are not dead? We are unarmed.
Fuyusuki: That done it.
Fuyusuki gave them a shot each, right on their heart.
Fuyusuki: Chyaku, Matsuki and Horoshi might want to do this, but since they aren't here, I do it on their behalf.
Misato: It is all over.
A gun fire was heard.
Asuka: Horoshi!!
Asuka tried to run back, but Misato forced her out of Nerv into Tokyo-3.
(Chyaku's group)
They killed many UN soldier along the way.
Chyaku: (Shoot into the brain of a man) You can't hold a candle to a Captain like me, Sergeant.
They turned into the last layer. They saw a familiar face, a girl of their age.
Voice: Souls 1, 2, and 3. Remember your dear friend.
Chyaku: Yapioko, (Point a gun at her) servants of Seele are not to be kept alive.
Yapioko: (raised her gun and pointed it back at Chyaku) Chyaku, what happened? You still love me, don't you. You had to time to fire before I raise my gun, but you didn't. You love me.
Chyaku: I do not wish to kill someone who was once my friend. You want to point the gun at yourself and press the trigger?
Yapioko: Chyaku....
Bang! Yapioko collapsed. Smokes was comming out from Matsuki's gun.
Matsuki: You are thinking too much, Yapioko.
Yapioko: Why? Why? Why do I always have to be defeated by you. In love field and now. Why can't god be fair.
Chyaku picked Yapioko up from the floor. He carried him out to Tokyo-3.
Yapioko: At least I get to be in your arm.
Chyaku: God isn't fair to you because you chose not to serve him.
He placed her down gently. He knew that she wasn't going to make it through. Yapioko's last memory was Chyaku giving Matsuki a very loving kiss.
Horoshi: Goodbye, Soul 4.
Then Misato's group ran to them.
Misato: I've released all the top secret files of Seele. The NU army retreated after reading them, they have realized that Seele was trying to rule the world.
Fuyusuki: All is over. No more danger.
Asuka was overjoyed to see Horoshi again.
They hugged and kissed each other. Bright also give Misato a kiss, much to the
surprise of many.
